ABOUT ONE TASTE
One Taste is a six-piece band, originating from the wonderful, idyllic town of Rauma, which is located in the west coast of Finland.
In 2003 composer-guitarist Alonzo Heino decided to put together an ensemble to perform his instrumental compositions of that period. Some of those tunes wound up on the debut release of the group that became to be known as One Taste. Since then the band has released self-produced albums at a steady rate, though musical styles have often varied. One Taste has changed its line-up on many occasions, up until the spring of 2007 when the correct balance of personalities and talents was stumbled upon.
A NEW ALBUM!!!
The fourth full-lenght by One Taste is titled ”Koan” and it will be released by Kaakao Records on the 15th of October 2008. On this latest outing the group’s overall sound has acquired some crunch in the form of a more rock/pop informed approach. This doesn’t mean that the band has abandoned its somewhat jazzy outlook on form and harmony, nor has the cinematic scope or vast sonic palette been sacrificed!
As far as lyrical themes go, One Taste tip-toes around various spiritual traditions, esoteric mysteries, loves present and past –and some awkward phrases and silly choice of words. An optimistic outlook on things permeates through all of the music. That being said, one can find several moods on the latest One Taste release –from slick urban chickflick ballads to prog-pathos to crazy twisting rock and symphonic pop.
Well, you should just probably check this overtly positive band out for yourself, now shouldn’t you??!!
